Does anyone know if one of these has been developed by any sponsors on here. I have routed my master away from my kooks headers, but would like to put a heat shield up just to keep the heat off of it for my own personal happiness. Thanks guys.
I've built a prototype aluminum shield, and am testing it on my own car. I need to bleed my master/slave completely though, to make sure I get accurate results. Fluid in there was brown already when I installed it, and doesn't seem to clean very well with the "Ranger" method.
If the heat shield works, I may have them produced to sell. It is made of aluminum sheet and bolts to the empty bolt holes on the backside of the driver's side cylinder head.

You can accelerate the clean up of the fluid that has been allowed to get nasty by
(1) changing the fluid in the reservoir
(2) pump the clutch pedal ten times
(3) if the fluid is not clear, start again at (1)
(4) repeat until the fluid remain clear
The reservoir holds about 3 ounces. The overall hydraulics holds less than 16 ounces. So if the fluid in the reservoir was seriously nasty, you'll need to follow the multiple change protocol to get it clear again.
Then you can follow the check-change at gasoline fill-ups mode.
I've been changing the fluid almost daily now for the last 600 miles. It has gotten 'cleaner' but still isn't as clean as the new fluid. I'm guessing the slave might be full of the burnt stuff, doesn't seem to be working itself to the top. I still get a mushy pedal if I go WOT in 3rd or 4th gear.
