Have a Z51 Coupe on order and based on recomendations from several of the forum members have decided to immediately change over the pads to Ceramic the day I get the car. I will order the ceramic pads from Fred Bean this Monday.
My question is: are there any post or web sites that can help me with a step by step process? ---- I have done brakes before on my passenger cars, but have no knowlege of the C6 system and don't want to get myself in trouble!
Thank you !
One big question - Are you sure the Z51 does not have ceramics from the factory? My base '06 came with them and the only dusting was in the first couple of hundred miles as both rotors and pads were getting 'broken in' so to speak. Since then, nadda.

Check first before spending the bucks.
It should come with ceramic pads but it doesn't, just changed mine, what a difference! With out a doubt, the best mod you can make.
I have sprayed the CRC disk brake quiet on several C6's w/ceramic pads in order to get rid of the occassional squeak. This stuff really works. You do not need to remove the wheels. Just spray the rotor surface and apply the brakes as described in the directions. The noise has not returned with over 10K miles of driving.
I did not believe that this stuff would work or last, but I tried it on one very squeaky C6 w/ceramics and the problem never came back. The hot tip is to spray both sides of the rotor and follow the break in instructions.
