How do you pull DTC codes on C6
As far as I know you can only do it with an OBDII scanner....and even for that there have been some changes where you may need a new model that supports "CANBUS", at least I think that is what it's called.

There are several good one's available, I have the Innova 3110 that works great but there are others also.

I don't know why GM took the feature away of displaying them on the DIC like a C5 can, but apparently they did. The interface for the C6 is called CANdi.
The LAN that the computers used in a C5 to talk to each other has been upgraded from Serial 2 to a (GM name for it) Controller Area Network (CAN) for the C6. To talk to it, scan tools like the Tech 2 that your GM dealer hooks directly to the C5 netwwork now needs a CAN digital interface (CANdi) box to talk to the C6 networked computers.
To see more about the GM scan tool (Tech 2) take a look at:

and click on SCAN TOOLS in the list on the left.
There are other 3rd party vendors such as AutoTap ( http://www.autotap.com ) that make interfaces for the GM system, just be sure to add on the necessary hardware for the CAN in your C6
