Default CA Emissions question

Hi All,

I just purchased a used 06 C6 from back east. I'm in CA, what do I do about CA emissions? Do all the cars have them now? I wasn't sure so I had to ask.

thanks,
Ron

It should be 50 state compliant, but you can find out quickly by looking at the label on the right side hood hinge area.Ca.should be mentioned on it.And of course, congratulations on your new ride!

In '03 I bought a Z06 from Les Stanford Chevrolet(great dealership). When the car arrived I already had the paperwork to register the car that was Fed Exed. I had to get a smog check(the tech loved putting the car on the dyno). I took the paperwork to DMV and in 15 minutes had plates and registration. I only use 1 plate however.

If it is used (over 7500 miles) it doesn't need the CA sticker. If it is new or used with less than 7500 miles it will need the sticker. You will have to take it to DMV for an inspection when it gets here and they will check for the sticker.

The smog station checked for the sticker on my ZO6, not the smog station.

Say again. I had the AAA check for mine after I had it smoged. It was new purchased for a Georgia dealer and picked up at the museum .
