Which exhaust system?
I've got a stock '06 Automatic Coupe, and I'm looking for a system that's a little more throaty than stock, but is not obnoxiously loud and doesn't "drone" when I level off the RPMs. (And I have noticed that, in my opinion, real loud systems never really sound right with an automatic).
Any "first-hand" recommendations from guys who have systems installed, or who had systems in the past?
Thanks. . . Stu

This is a new model for the A6 and so far there are a few positive reports, including mine!
I'm running the Corsa Sports and am very pleased with the sound. But you have to listen to others before deciding. They all sound better than stock, only you will know what is best for your taste buds...
I too did not want to settle for a system with any drone because my wife and I like to spend as much time as possible on road trips. But I definitely wanted to 'wake up' my car and make it sound more like it looks and runs.
You will find many reports of no-drone systems. But if you continue to read or check with others I guarantee that you will find most of these systems do drone. This is probably because some people are not as sensitive to drone. I also suspect that some people don't want to admit that it exists (i.e. that they may have not made the best purchase decision). And to others, especially those who may not spend a lot of time driving their cars, it may just not be a big issue.
My conclusion is that the only real no-drone options for the A6 at this time are the Corsa systems specifically designed for the A6...sport #14167 or touring #14168.
I have the sport on order and will be installing it next week. I'll post a report shortly thereafter.
The system is expensive, but one advantage (other than it shouldn't drone) is that if you start with the sport and it turns out to be too loud, for about $300 you can add a set of resonators and convert it to the (quieter) touring version.
The downside is the type of sound...reportedly higher pitched than the traditional 'muscle car' sound. For me, 'no drone' turned out to be more important than the type of sound. Your priorities may be different.
Good luck on your decision. It's not an easy one for the A6!

here is my h/c with kooks long tube headers and corsa sports...
Nice vid!
Wow, that sounds so much different than the Corsa Sports on a basically stock C6.
On my stock C6 they are much deeper, more like an American V8 sound, but once you add the headers the higher pitched exotic sound really comes through
The cam just makes the idle sound wild and adds to the high rpm exotic sound.
Other great videos of Corsa Sports with Long tubes are on youtube.com, do a search under Corsa Sports and look under FAsnakes.

Hope this helps, but I would still like to hear one in person.
Now, does anyone have the Veri-ram induction system and if so, what do you think of it? I spoke to the manufacturer and they said that at idle on the dynamometer you get only 5hp increase, but as you get moving and the cold air gets funneled in, you get a 40hp increase! For about $300-$400 that is a huge bang for the buck! And they say it takes less than an hour for you to install and is an easy installation.
Can anyone verify this performance first hand?
Bob
