Default Question on Fast intake.

Were are you guys ordering your Fast Intakes for the C6?

And are you guys sending your throttle body's somewhere to be ported or are you purchasing them?

And whats it mean by Porting the intake? do you mean the intake manifold being ported?

And is the Lingenfelter 100 MAF worth the money? are there any gains?

I couldn't tell where you where from. My signiture says it. 21CMC is a Lingenfelter source is Dallas. So whichever one is closer.

Yes on Fast, Polished TB, Cold Air

P&P TB is cheap with swap from LPE/21st ($100 or so). There are places you can send for porting. I saw a post where the FASTs were being sold for $758 somewhere, but can't remember where. I just got it all from 21st Century/LPE because I got their firewall kit as well.

Porting the intake is porting the intake manifold to match the ports to your heads and/or to smooth any imperfections in the casting for better flow.

On my Dad's car (h/c pkg), it made 437 rwhp with a Halltech Stinger CAI and stock MAF. We then changed only the CAI and MAF (both to LPE), and picked up 12rwhp and about 13rwtq. I doubt the MAF makes any difference by itself, but it is purported to be much more accurate and allows for a better tune than with the stock MAF. I can't dispute the #s, as the dyno runs were done immediately before and immediately after the change.

On my car, also H/C pkg with LPE CAI and MAF, I just installed nitrous and it resulted in pulling timing (hard knock) on a small dry shot (75bhp), which probably wouldn't have happened with the stock MAF, but because of the incremental measuring ability of the LPE MAF, I needed to retune. May or may not be the case, but it's our best guess.

Hope that helps.

I've seen some posts here about stock intake porting by Jeremy Formatto, but I don't know who that is.

Like I said on the throttle body, I just did a swap for the LPE ported and polished TB with 21st Century Muscle Cars when they did my heads/cam package...it's as cheap as having the stock one ported and you don't have to send and wait!

Both Midnite902 and I have the FAST intake, which can also be ported/port matched, but very little gains for the money. Stock intake porting seems to add about as much as buying the FAST 90 (slightly less in most cases it seems), and I believe it will run you about $300 (so maybe better bang for the buck). If you plan on running nitrous, get the FAST...much stronger.

Ported the LS2 is not a bad idea, I sent mine to Corry Harris. Seems to have the best rep here and on LS1tech.com for porting LS2 intakes. Below is his web site.

Hope it helps....
