Header Gasket Details
I expect the headers to show up in a week or so. In talking to a knowledgable friend last night, the question of port shape came up. He asked me if the flange of the headers was cut to seal the D shaped exhaust port. I had anticipated reusing the gaskets as they are only about a month old. I guess the gaskets are D shaped to match the heads and if the flanges on the headers aren't cut to accept the D after time small leaks can develop out of the square corners. He thought I might be better off to get gaskets made for round port, say like a 2001 Camaro. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

I've used the stock GM gaskets with my Kooks for a year now with no leaks. This is coupled with having taken the headers off at least 10 times, changing motors, changing heads 4 times and beating the snot out of the car in general. Same Kooks headers, same GM gaskets it came with from the factory... no leaks.
