Why do you want to add the telescoping wheel? Do you specifically want the ability to telescope back and forth, or do you just want the steering wheel to be fixed in a different position than it is now?
On a new Toyota I own that does NOT have a telescoping steering wheel, I found the wheel to be way too far away from me when my seat was in the optimum position. I was actually able to drop the steering column and modify the column brackets a bit in order to reposition the column closer to the driver seat... and lowered it a bit too. Granted, I probably only moved the column an inch at best, but it made a noticeable improvement.
Point is, if you merely wish to reposition the steering wheel a bit, it may be possible to do it with the existing column. Worked in my Toyota, not sure about in a C6 specifically though... anyone?
I found when I sit closer auto-crossing my arm hits my thigh, didnt get the 3lt package, to save money for mods, now I wish I had the teley.
thats why
You've probably already done this, but I'd recommend doing MORE experimentation with your seat and steering wheel tilt position. Play with the seat height, angles of bottom and backrest, etc. You'd be surprised at how much fiddling with all the seat parameters can change how you fit in the car. It's not just about forward and back. Don't be afraid to try new positions ... sometimes what my seem uncomfortable or undesireable at first winds up being your favorite new position.
