Millenium Yellow
Thanks
FYI another shop even gave me the same info.
I know MY is tricky to match, but I have a MY Z, and I bought a pre-painted BPP Hood and SW Rear Fascia and they matched *PERFECTLY*. They also matched the previous owners MY Vert.
I think there's a "spec" MY and if your car matches the reference color, then everything is fine.
I was told that as the factory swaps colors - and I understand the do a number of the same color then change out - that the previous color can tint the initial runs of a new color.
It should look amazing when you get everything fixed up! I'm seriously thinking of a C6 Vert tthat would eventually get Z/Caravaggio fenders.
Thanks
When I had my APC fenders put on and painted the shop had no problems matching the Millinum yellow, but were painted ON the car.
The other thing is paint fades, or changes color with wax. You could take two diferent fenders two months apart and the paint the same color and they would not match.
Yellow is not the most difficult corvette color to match, LeMans blue is.
Dont just let the body shop use the GM paint codes and year, That is only the starting place. Make sure they do a color spectrum of your paint then match to that.
Most shops wont do that as it takes more time ( two min
) NO matter HOW perfect the shop gets it, it will still not be show quality. In some light you will see the difference.
I think I have three different Millinium Yellows on my car in some light. My car is not a show car, it is track rat and paint gets beat up each time out.

Milliunium Yellow has a gold tint, not orange.
Any way ( not too offend you) but you have to get the whole car painted to match now.

Now I am soo confused

The only thing that wasn't painted was the inside of the headlights. I can see that the shade is a little different in certain light. You can see what went on with this at -

I was trying to avoid painting over perfectly good paint. I also hate over spray it gets everywhere (interior, wheels, under the hood), no matter how well you mask the car. It is very fine and even if you think it didn't get on your car chances are it did. That's why I wanted the fenders painted off of the car.

This is true. That's why I had the whole car painted in pieces and then put back together. I've had "regular cars" painted in the past and found that the suspension and/or exhaust along with another things get sprayed too.
