You felt active handling. Torque Management is always there and can not be "felt". You would feel quite a difference if TM was removed (/altered), as the car would respond much differently. Altering the TM settings can only be done with a tune.

Yes...the C5 and C6 have "throttle-by-wire". The "gas pedal" is connected to the PCM via wire, and the PCM controls the throttle body by wire. Better throttle response can be had by porting the throttle body.
