get a slight hesitation when starting out at low speeds in my a6, felt the same condition when i was test driving another automatic so i assume its not a problem, just curious.

I notice it once in a great while. You just have to floor it all the time .
It's not bad enough for me to complain, it's just a typical automatic to me.
I personally think it's the controversial and taboo subject known as torque management but it could just be the nature of this new 6L80E.
I only notice the hesitation at very low throttle openings. As far as Torque Management, not sure if I've felt it before, but I've definitely felt active handling. My impression of AH so far is it's dangerous as can be. I nailed it the other day on a slippery concrete on ramp. The car started to kick it's tail out like I'm used to. Normally I would counter steer it and keep my foot in the throttle when all of a sudden the car just quits. I hate these electronic nannies!
Me too...if I could get a Corvette without TC, ABS or AH (and especially for less money) I would LOL.
It would not only be less money, but it would be more reliable and a lot more fun. People are now convinced that without active handling we are all going to wreck everytime the car twitches. I've been driving without AH for the last 35 years and haven't had a wreck yet, knock on wood (I'm hitting my head right now!).
You can also turn off AH and TC on the C6, I'm just too old to remember to turn it off all the time. I even forgot to turn it off on my first Solo 2 run the other day!

I get the same thing, thought it was the electronic throttle control.... I would like to get rid of it...
Go to the dealer and have them download a "stall and hesitation" program, I had the same problem at low speeds. I also helped the A6 on shifting, very seldom now have jerky and rough shifts. Also solved some surging between 600 and 1500 rpm's. Sometimes if felt like a hammer hitting the trans on low speed shifts with lite letup of throltle.

that's not where the problem lies.. it's when it kicks back in and you've already gone into the next counter-steer. aaauuuuuuhhhhhhhh.....weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. ...

some slight hesitation, with an automatic transmission is, imo, normal.
a basic a/f, timing tune should fix most of it but it's always gonna slightly be there. even manuals have a slight hesitation during shifts.
I cant think of any reason to not want the abs. When it first came out I recall one of the print mags had Mario trying to out stop the ABS. He did, but only by a few feet. I think few of us here would have equaled his performance. ABS is now much improved and I wonder if even the very best could beat abs on a same driver, same car, same day, type of test? The AH is more of a question. Personally I like it the way it is now. Mine recently saved my *** when I was making a hard 90 pulling out onto the road and heading up a fairly steep hill that had been gravelled during the snow. I was under very light throttle but the rear end came out hard and the nannies kicked in and brought the car into line nicely. It came out really quick on that fine gravel and I was just figuring out I was in trouble at the time the nannie was already correcting. There was no room to hang the tail as all lanes were full except the inside one that I was entering so that one might have gotten expensive. In my mind this is where AH helps, when loosing it unexpectedly where your not even paying attention and just going through the motions of driving. I was trying to slide my wifes bmw a couple weeks ago and I'll be darned if I could get the nannies to turn completely off even after following the directions in the manual. Now thats just BS.
I've felt the notorious torque management kick in once....felt like the car lost 6 cyls. Happened while TC and AH was on and i kicked it in a straight line, guess I got too much traction or not enough for it, couldn't tell, it lost too much power. Hopefully I can get that crap tuned out. The electronic throttle does take some time getting used to, does anyone know of a way to improve the throttle response on these? I know all the tricks for the manual throttle, but like I said, am new to the electonic ones.

On my 07 A6 the car will noticably stumble for a moment if I am going at a low speed (12-15MPH), and hit the brake to slow (but not stop) then accelerate. Like if something ran in the road, you hit the brake for a second then you hit the gas. I've only noticed it in that type of slow speed situation. It is very annoying however.
Off the line there is no hesitation at all. In 1st gear it snaps your head back.
