I usually hear about LG headers. Anyone had any experience with Melrose? From what I gather they are coated for better looks and heat protection. Any thouhgts?
I put Melrose headers on my 'vette on the recommendation of my tuner, Tony's Corvettes in Maryland. For long tube headers, they keep the (high-flow) cats in close for good light off. They are really nicely made, look good and sound marvelous with my GHLs. Being coated inside and out, they keep more heat in the exhaust stream to the cats, and less in the engine compartment. Fit and finish is perfect. The package they sell for the C6 is complete with Random Tech high flow cats and X-pipe.
I'm totally happy with them and would recommend them. Other LT headers may or may not make more power or torque, but I'm pretty sure the Melrose are trouble-free.
If you have any specific concerns, the Melrose guy can answer better than I can, but I couldn't be happier.
OBTW no codes.

Melrose makes a sweet product. Their headers are coated, mild steel; not stainless, but, I've had coated mild steel headers on other cars and had zero problems. With the ss headers, if you scratch them, they will not rust. With the mild steel, coated headers, a deep scratch coluld result in rusting. Installing the headers on a C6 is easy, and with a little care, should result in a scratch-free install. Good luck.
I have run Melrose on 2 c6s now and would not run any othe header.
Cleaner look and they are a very easy install that make big power.
You can get a set from Melrose with random Tech high flow cats that are ss for around 1650.00 .
I have had kooks and seen a few sets of Lg headers come in the shop that need burrs ground off and even a set with cracked flanges that were brand new.
The Melrose headers are also known as Grizzle headers from a dealer that wanted to say he made his own brand.
Great investment!
Melrose LT with the 3" Random Technology cats and X-pipe kits has been an outstanding seat-of-the-pants improvement. Didn't do bad on the dyno either. I also use them with stock mufflers. No drone, trouble free, looks great.

Just curious, any dyno numbers you wish to share? Thanks
we have installed over 200 sets of melrose in the last 4 1/2 yrs, the first sets still look new and i have never had to remove any to repair leaks due to cracking, like most other LT's you will see 30-40 hp improvement. www.hpperformancecorvettes.com
Spiralcoupe, Magnaflows has sound clips on their site. But my set set up sounds best in person. This set up is for those that don't want obnoxiosly lound and not too soft. It idles very nice then when you step on it it growls letting the guy next to you know and when he is behing you. At highway, it has nice hum if you r cruising, I have many compliments on it on the road and and gas stations etc. My friend who has a c5z06 loves it so much that he's going to get a c6 and put same set-up. the Melrose coating is beatiful and keeps temperature down, especially when you have clutch line and other things close by. You won't be disappointed.

Put my Melrose headers on about 4-5 months ago with the Random Hi-flow cats and x-pipe and I can't say enough about 'em! What a difference in the seat of the pants feel and sound! In my case, though, I left the stock mufflers on after trying out the Corsa sports which I thought were too loud and feel this combo sounds the BEST! Kind of like the Z06 set up; not too loud under normal load but when you get on it, man, its mainly all engine you hear when it all comes to life.
Do it, you won't regret it. Best move I made yet-Good Luck.
