I'm looking to purchase a TT setup within the year. I know that APS has two BOVs that are front mounted; how do they sound?
Also, i had some trouble finding pricing on the APS kit. Am I correct to assume that the APS kit installed with a tune would be around 11k? Or am I way off.
Also on a side note: does anyone have a shop suggestion in the NJ area?

Actually, the APS C6 twin turbo system uses two 25mm diverter (aka recirculating) valves similar to the Porsche 996tt or the older Audi S4tt. These valves are not loud. We have fit a pair of Forge Motorsport vent to atmosphere valves on one car to date in order for the customer to have a much more pronounced expulsion of air pressure at throttle lift.
Pricing is $8995 for the APS C6 Twin Turbo system and we retail the system with installation, spark plugs, thermostat, and tuning for $10,995.00. You may try Cartek or Vette Doctors up in your area.
I see, I actually had a Forge 007 DV on my old VW 1.8t.
Did you experience any issues after fitting a BOV to the system? Was it a hybrid that had partial plumback?
Thanks,
Yes, I am very familiar with the 1.8t Forge 007. I was Forge Motorsports sales manager for 2.5 years when they started the US office back in 2002.
No, the APS system retains the MAF location just in front of the throttle body. The location of the dv's is before the maf, hence you are venting non metered air and can use a single piston or single diaphragm valve vent to atmosphere valve. Actually, we used a pair of twin piston FMDV004's on the car with a yellow spring. The valve was supplied with the appropriate billet plug to cap off the intake hose side. It is not obnoxiously loud, like a turboxs or HKS valve, but does have a clean noticeable sound. I should have taken some pics of them.
how much rwhp power can i expect to get ot of this setup thanks
The APS C6 twin turbo system, IN GENERAL, can support upwards of 850rwhp. If you plan on bolting this on to a stock car though, here are some base figures for what the different transmissions that are available can handle with a stock engine and APS TT system;
C6 with stock A4 automatic: roughly 500rwhp at 5.5-6psi
C6 with stock A6 automatic: roughly 525rwhp at 6-6.5psi
C6 with manual tranny: roughly 600rwhp at 9 psi
If you start to beef the tranny, engine, and fuel system up, the kit will max out around 850rwhp.
You should also figure on installing the APS exhaust as well. You should probably figure on 14-17k with everything being done.I dont think the cats
will handle the heat hence the exhaust.I got 505+ at 6.5 PSI on A6 06
Well i was plannin on putting a free flow exhaust on before the turbos. Is there any reason why a corsa sport exhaust system would not work, i was also lookin into a hi-flow cat.
There are steps i would look to take periodically before the plunge into tts.
Madboost suggested a retail of 11,000 where does the extra 6,000 come from? Exhaust, hi-flow cat, fuel injectors?
