Default Stroker and Cats

I'm going to be re-tuning my stroker and I've been running a thought through my head and wanted to see if anybody has some feedback. After I installed the stroker, my CATS get pretty cookin hot. I've got the overtemp off so, that don't help but I think I've ate the cats up. My question is in reference to anybody who has hollowed out the cats on a C6 and then tuned it. We've got inspection here in Jersey but I think I can square that away.

What I don't want is a stinking nasty hunk after I hollow them out. I did this on my T/A years ago and it was horrible. But, that was without tuning. Also, and more folks may be able to comment on this, how much louder did it get? Keep in mind the car is a 500rwhp nightmare, so it's not like I'm not used to modded cars and the smells and noise that goes with it. Just looking for some real-world I did it and its cool, or no, it was a huge mistake comments.

I really think I cooked the cats and they are holding back some power.

Back when I had my C5 with cats, I used to have to replace the cats with 'test pipes' to be able to use the o2 sensor spots for my wideband. Once tuned, I was surprised that it didnt smell bad at all. I was sitting at traffic lights and was thinking that most people must be running poorly tuned cars to get a smell that was bad.

I've been thinking about your cat issue and think they are damaged and lost efficiency. replacing them with the new version may help your cause.

By the way, you forgot to e-mail me my code key so I can look at my software. Run along and take care of it Captain.

Well I'm not going to weld new cats in this X-pipe. I'll just buy another one. So you want to try and take these out and tune her Guy? I'm thinking the reduction in heat and 30 horse will be worth it. I'm just worried it will smell like crap. If you say you got yours to work I'll hollow them out tonight and weld a new bung so I stop tearing up your lamda.

I played poker all night... weather was crap and didn't do no tuning. I'll send the code to ya later.

Ya didn't answer my sound issue BTW, get on it Copper.
