Default Wheel sizes for DR's

hello all im looking into getting a set of drag radials for my C6 and ii dont know of anybody that makes a 19" dr so i was thinking about putting on tsome rear C5 wheels(18's) and mounting DR on them

my question is has anybody done this will the stock c5 wheels mount right up or do i need a certain offset.also what tire/DR size did you go with

TIA
Ryan

ryan,

go with a c5 Z06 FRONT 17x9.5 and run 17" drag radial since there are plenty available in that size or run a 18x10.5" rear C5 Z06 wheel and run an 18" drag radial. They will bolt right up, if you have a Z51 might want to check the clearance for the caliper but I am pretty sure the 18 will work.

That's it. You've reached the limit...too many threads started in one day!

I think mine are 17's, but ask JoeG.....he'll know. I've got Z51.

I know first hand the 18x10.5 C5 Z06 rear wheels will work with a 315.30.18 BFG tire. I am not 100% sure about the 17.

Google up wheel calculator. the 10.5 wheel will stick out to far and look dumb, plus throw dirt on your car and maybe hit wheel well if you hook and the car squats hard

I'm the same way. Mine are ET Streets, 275/40/17; mounted on 17" C5 wagon wheels, from the front of a C5. Fit fine. No need to go to 18s for a drag radial; in fact, a bigger side wall (higher profile) may be beneficial for drag radials.

Will work but a rear wheel from a Z06 is going to stick out a little over an inch further than stock fitment.

A C5 Z06 front on the other hand will only stick out around 19 mm. That should not be too bad.

I widened some C6 fronts to 10.5 inches and I run BFG 295/35/18's. Fit just like stock, just a couple mm off.

Wagon wheels were the first OEM wheels for the C5, I believe they updated to thin spokes in 2000. Same sizes and I believe the offsets are nearly identical also.

They are good light strong wheels but are a tad ugly.

Yes, it's the factory silver 1997-1999 (non magnesium) C5 rims, thick spoke.
Jerry Muniz (black 2005 C6) has a set of those (18x9.5, the C5's rear wheel size) on his car with 295x35 BFG DRs and it fits very well IMO.

Lots of wheel threads tonight.

I would suggest running what Dennis has on his car. C6 repos 18x9.5 with the 65 mm offset with BFG 295/35/18s.

To me that is the best economical method and still have matching wheels. I hate front and rear wheels that do not match, even just for track tires.
