I first want to say thanks to those forum members that helped walk me through my first header install. You guys know who you are. I really appreciate the help.
The install on my Kooks headers and off road X-pipe is complete. I must say the sound is just unbelievable. The neighbors came outside to see what all the noise was about and the wife is freaked out by the sound. After running the car for a few miles to get rid of all the smoke and stuff form the new exhaust, I noticed that I did not throw a code. This supprised me considering I am not using any cats at all now.
The car is running great.... but I am wondering do I really need to still have the car tuned? I was going to have a tune to get rid of any codes that popped up but now am wondering if its still worth the $450 to have one. I might still get another 10HP from the tune but money is tight and $450 could be used elsewhere.
I finally got a CEL after about five months. "Cat inefficacy." The tune cleared the code, and got the A/F ratio where it should be. Headers will cause it to run richer than it already does. A tune will correct that, along with getting rid of the TM, and improve the shifting, if you have an auto.
