Do I need a tune?
Re the load, is this also true of the newer Mustang load-bearing dyno's? My local dyno shop can do a simulated 1/4 mile pull through the gears, and the results have been very accurate.
I agree about the difficulties of simulating the airflow from a CAI system on the dyno, have posted several times about it.
Re the LC-1 Wideband Controller, can it provide a data feed to HP Tuners, EFI Live, Autotap, etc ---- or do you have to rely on the gauge?

The LM1 has an SEVEN SEGMENT display capable of displaying the AFR on the unit while the LC1 requires a seperate guage.....(which is really cool if you want to mount it permanantly in the car which is a GREAT IDEA)
You would not want to mount the LM-1 permenantly.
In regards to the dyno....even with a load adjustable...I don't think it's close enough to matter...
Picture this.....tuning you car on the dyno is the same as........
A) Going home on a friday night with your wife or girlfriend....and jumpin in bed......and......
B) or...stoppin' by the local sex shop....droppin 40+ bucks on the "realistic love doll with real human hair" and sportin your new lady home to your place for a night of fun and wild times....
Now then....In both example A & B our stud will be essentially doing the same thing....going through the same motions....and ultimately end up with the "same" results....
But, tell me.......Who is gonna chose "B"???? Why would you when you could have option A??
In MY opinion.....tuning your car on a dyno and expecting it to perform on the street where you use it 99.99% of it's life......is the same as going home with the plastic love doll.....IT'S NOT THE SAME AS REAL LIFE....
You decide,

Last time he had to tune it on the dyno becuase of torrential downpours, but today was all on the street.
He said he hates tuning on a dyno, the dyno is basically just a tool to give #s before and after mods.
I did not even put my car back on the dyno, to me the only #s that matter are at the track.

The real world is on the track. Those members that acquired between 380-395rwhp on the dyno tune, I wonder what kind of numbers that could obtain at the track. I haven't seen any enormous results. Most of the members with around 360-370rwhp are doing fine on the track. Now Chuck, I would like to see one of your mail order tune perform the 1/4 mile. I really don't care about the dyno numbers from your tune unless it's outrageous low or high. I just want a safe and consistent tune. That's what I'm waiting for.
Oh I forgot, I do have one question. I have a C6 Mn6 Z51 with VaraRam only. I'm planning on installing the headers later. If I purchase the mail order just with the VaraRam bolt on, would I need to have it re-tuned with the headers installment?

I won't say that it's mandatory....but I would re-tune it if it were my car.

Here's my write up:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1495324
I don't think I'd put down 424 RWHP on a Dynojet dyno, but you can see the difference the tune made from comparing the pre-tune baseline to final.
KevinFirst of all....you can remove the pcm and overnight it to me.....That's very popular...For instructions, do a search on CF for "mail order tuning" and there you will find my posts with flyers you can print with instructions on how to remove and install the pcm.
The other option is the "CHUCK CoW TRAVEL AND TUNE"....
In the colder months I travel......If you or your local club can put together at least 10 confirmed vehicles (vettes, camaros, cad CTSV,GTO,ALL GM TRUCKS, etc mix and match) I'll fly into your area and do my "FULL LIVE IN SHOP TUNE" for a huge discount....Everybody gets a break.AND a LIVE TUNE.....
It is preferred to make arrangements 30 days in advance....Contact me if you are interested....
