well I can tell you the Halltech woke my engine up a bit. After a few days of driving with it on, I can tell a SOTP difference in the cars behavior. Throttle response is a bit more spot on, and the car will break second gear real easy (A4) if I don't watch it. Easy install too, 15 mins tops

I installed the Halltech and got a 4rwhp 6twtq gain comparing it's pull to the best stock pull (stock 341rwhp, 334rwtq). Not much of a gain but I still recommend it if you want a super easy intake to install without any shroud cutting.

Silver,

Did you install the CAI option with the Halltech? I'm trying to find out if it will be worth any additional performance gains. However I understand the Halltech dropped it as an optional piece, but I think the stock part can be easily modified.

I have found that the Vararam has the best flow of any on the market. My choice hands down.

No, haven't installed it. My dyno results were from the Halltech intake only. IMO I'm not convinced the Halltech cold air option really does anything to improve performance, there's no ram air effect and plenty of air gets into the shroud area already without additional holes.

glennhl and i have done some data logging on the mod halltech cai. you will be surprise. it isn't a horse power gainer, but it will help alot if you live in hot states in turns of preventing the pcm from pulling the timing too fast....once iat reach 86*...timing starts to get pull...thanks

Thanks for the information, that could explain why Halltech is discontinuing the CAI option.

Been there, Done that!!! But, it turned out great after a lot of anxiety doing it on my own.

The install was mostly completed by fellow forum member cbrf4i1 and my uncle both of whom more than make up for my mechanical ignorance.
Anyway, the instructions were not the greatest especially if you don't read them throughly. As a result, we removed the shroud, realized we had to measure before taking it out so replaced the shroud, measured, and again took off. Wow, that was a ****. Then had no clue about the rivet gun and could not figure out the deal with the screws as I didn't know that the rivet gun would actually cut these damn things to size. At this time, contacted fellow forum member beezeye through a PM. He immediately called us back and gave us invaluable advice. You can check out his post:

O.K. the damn thing is on and it actually turned out GREAT! You don't want to know how long it took, but again it was a well done job. Took the car for a spin and realized it was all worth it... SOTP assessment
