It's adjustable suspension. There are two settings controlled by a dial on the console. "Tour" is a soft setting for cruising. "Sport" is a stiffer setting for more spirited driving. It works by magnetically altering the flow properties of the fluid in the shocks. And it works quite well.
It's a great option...especially for a touring car...and many will say it's superior in other circumstances too.
Some will say they can't tell the difference...but after you've driven a car with it for awhile it becomes very evident.
Many people only focus on the point that there are two settings. But that really missed the entire point of the system. In fact, many cars now have the same basic technology without even being adjustable.
The real key is that, no matter which setting you are in, the computer uses sensors to constantly measure the conditions of the road and the cars movements and makes adjustments to the viscosity of the "oil" in order to firm or relax the motions withing milliseconds. This allows the car to ride very well under "normal" conditions, but firm up when it needs to.

I have the F55 and I like it....it is a technologically 'plush' system now being adopted on certain models of Ferrari and by other car makers. I think it's the best all-around suspension option and it truly provides more that just a firm versus a softer ride setting. I've found, even under hard driving conditions (on different road conditions) it works for me very well.

I've only read a little about the F55 but the MSRC technology is some pretty impressive sh*t.
My car is a couple of years old, have the MSRC option and love it. Noticed it was a little soft in the corners, under the sport mode, so I installed Z51 sway bars...totally satisfied.

The system is always working, and the different modes merely change computer algorithms. You may have to become quite familiar with the car before you can feel a difference in each setting. You won't notice a difference on smooth roadways. When you drive the car aggressively on a road with dips, curves, etc., you will probably notice a difference in the sport mode versus tour mode. But, as I said, the system is always working to give the best ride and control to the driver.
My opinion: When I drive my 2005 C6 with F55 scary fast on rough back country roads it feels like the shock fluid turns into peanut butter. I like it!!
If you love your wife and want her to take trips with you, I would suggest you ordered it. It is a good compromise between basic and Z51suspension. You want her happy?
