Default Flowmaster exhaust

What is the point of spending 1000+ on an exhaust when you can get flowmasters for 350? Is it because you get the stainless steel for the extra $650. I thought stainless was used to protect against corrosion in harsh conditions. Im not sure how many of us drive our baby's in harsh conditons, but I dont. The name CORSA would be nice though...lol. I can just see some kid running up and yelling hell yea FLOW MASTERS REV IT UP!!! Anyone have the quad tip system and if so will the sound differ from the dual tip? O yea I have 07 z51 m6. Is everyone who has this exhaust happy. Anyone with headers how does it sound? PICS and sound clips would be great I have only heard one sound clip and its standing still.

I'm happy with my C6 Flowmaster system. It seems to just sound better and better (dual 4" tips and MN6 trans).I've lived in N.Ca for 31 years and have never had to replace an exhaust system from rust through.

Flows do sound better the longer they are on the car, they are no for me though I still love the sounds of the Bulletts under power, but for those tha tdon't the Flowmasters make a low agressive growel that pleases the ear.

If I were buying BRAND NEW I would most likely have bought the Flowmasters and saved my money.

I ended up spending $950 for Bullets only to swap them out due to DRONE.

Luckily I bought both my exhausts for my two C6s pre-owned for $500 for Magnaflows and $400 for Corsa Sports.

Otherwise I would either have Flowmasters or weld-in Magnaflow mufflers.

The only other advantage to the higher priced Corsa Sports is if you do headers they won't drone.

Flowmaster kit was a good buy, I like the sound and I don't find them annoying when cruising. I actually like the black mufflers, never was a fan of all the shin in the rear.

Flowmasters do sound better as time passes, esp startup and idling. And I prefer the stealth black mufflers. For the price, just can't beat it. Had Bullets, bye-bye after a few weeks due to loud, loud drone.

I had the dual tip FlowMasters on my 05 MN6 for a total of 4 hours. The install took 6 hours, and once finished I loved the look and the sound. Thought I had found a real deal as far as C6 custom exhaust went. Then I drove the car. The drone and buzz inside the car at cruising rpm was terrible. You could not carry on a civil conversation inside when the engine rpm was between 14-2000 rpm. It was nutz. Returned them, been well over a month, and the vendor has yet to credit my CC. I give the system a thumbs down.

Can you tell us what other mods you have on your C6? Just trying to figure out why Flowmasters are intolerable to you, but most others seem to like them? Headers, intake, auto or manual, etc.?

Why so cheap?

1. Not stainless steel
2. Tips look worse than stock
3. Mild Drone

At the time I had DynaTech 1 7/8" headers, Hi-Flow cats and X-pipe. FYI, the headers were Jet-Hot coated. If it was not for the drone, they'd still be on the car. Loved the look and sound. Good luck.

In my opinion, unless you plan on keeping the car for 100 years, no! Or you just like shinny things.

I've had Flowmasters w/quad tips on my car (06 mn6) for about a month now. No other modifications. Too loud - the problem is they sound alright from outside the car, but they sound louder from inside the car, also some drone. They're coming off, but not sure yet what will replace them. Maybe long tubes and stock mufflers. BTW, my Flowmasters only took @ an hour to install.

I have the Flow Master Duel Tip's. Wasn't sure how I would like the look's, but love the look of the two huge tip's. You "know" it's not stock because there is only two, & they're huge!! Sounds great with AR Header's, cat's. There IS drone at 70 that annoy's the hell out of me, but since this is purely a pleasure vehicle I will not change them.

IMO, the stock tips are better quality, but looks more like it is from the import scene...didn't seem to fit the car.

I have the single tip flowmasters and love them for the sound and cost. There is no drone in my opinion but I case that is a subjective issue. It's definetly not too loud especially if you like the sounds of hot rods. I actually wish mine was a little louder. I have had great reponse to my cars sound especially after participating in a porsche event where I had numerous porsche drivers approach me and compliment the sound and performance of the C6

I wasn't going to pay alot for a catback. In fact I wasn't going to get one until I saw the flowmaster kit for 1/3 the price of all other kits. I have used flowmaster for all my other cars (mostly mustangs). I do have to day the pricer catbacks have better fitment but not to the point of the price difference.
