I just got a 2007 coupe, Z51, A6.
The brakes feel a bit soft and week compared to my 2003.
The book says to take it easy on them for 200 miles.
Will they get stronger than?
They just don't seem to really bite.
The car goes like a bat at of hell, but stopping seems a bit scary.
Do the brakes need to burn off????
I felt the same way at first with my Z51 '07. With 3000 mi now they do feel better. Still not that really firm pedal I would like, but maybe attributable to the ABS and perhaps softer pads.

Driving to Indy last night, a coyote walked onto the highway right in front of me and I got an opportunity to see how fast the vette would STOP!!!. There were 2 more on the other side of the road and a SUV next to me was getting on the binders pretty hard also.
Brakes work great (thank god!).
F55's are oversized rotors. Does Z51 have those also?
I am a salesman so I want to qualify what say, but the old Z51 pads are harder than the new ones, but they stopped you quicker, so that is my thinking.
I put ceramic pads and Baer rotors on because I don't like brake dust or rusty non wearing rotor parts.
they say go lightly, but you really need to bed them in. Every other aftermarket brake manufacturer recommends a good bed in, I don't know why the stock ones say go easy. Make 10 successive hard stops from 50mph, let cool for about 10 minutes of easy driving and repeat. You will be amazed at the difference in performance.
