Magnetic Selective Ride Control option
OK- This topic has probably been beaten to death. But I don't visit often and am still trying to figure it out. I don't feel any difference between "sport" and "tour" mode in my '06 C6 coupe. Do I have to be in "competition" mode or am I just not pushing the throttle hard enough?

totally...although I ususally keep mine in Sport mode, I use tour when driving through the city...you should definitely notice a difference between the two...
I very much like the F55 suspension. Although the F55 offers much more than simply a 'firmer' versus a 'softer' ride, I certainly can tell the difference (between the two settings) on certain rough surface roads (such as a paved surface with numerous, bumpy expansion joints).
The difference in ride feel is not dependent upon throttle or acceleration nor does it have anything to do with Comp mode setting per se.
For some further information on the F55 system, I suggest you visit the manufacturer's web site below:

If after further experimentation you still do not notice anything, I would suggest having your dealer to check it. It is from what I know a very reliable system but anything's possible....maybe it's not working. Good luck.

You bet, there is a big difference between Tour and Sport modes, try it in different modes on a rough street and you will feel the difference. On a rough curve the rear end can shake loose if you are very agressive and could end up in the ditch. Just leave the active handling fully engaged - don't mess with active handling button after you start the Vette up, best to leave it as the factory wants it unless under special conditions - eg. road racing on tract etc..

I know it's not exactly the same but my C5 had mag ride and there was a very noticable difference between sport and tour, even on smoother roads. It was almost like the rear would float in tour and when you switched to sport it would imediately firm up. I noticed more of a difference on the rear vs. the front although both ends are of course firmer in sport.
... 110%! Before choosing my suspension I did exactly that plus driving a base and Z51 on the same stretch of road. I liked the Z51 best from a SOTP feel but liked the F55 for the ride. I went with the F55 because of the crappy roads around here. BTW... there is BIG difference in the ride on rough roads between the 2 settings. When I sneaky switch to sport mode my wife can tell in less than a minute every time!! If you can’t tell the difference take it in because something’s not working properly..........
Man, I guess I need to take mine to the dealer. I can tell the difference but its hard to tell. Had my wife switch on a trip once and I didnt notice for 30 minutes. When new I used to switch back and forth and just figured it was working because not much happened.

About the only time I can tell a difference is when I hit a rough section of road, and things get a little bumpy in the car. Usually then is when I see I have left it in sport mode.
I'll tell you another way to check it is to have a gutsy 35 to 40 MPH cross wind and your car is rocking, or do a very slight quick weaving at 50MPH and turn the system from tour to sport or and vice versa, if its working you will definitely feel and see (front fenders do not rock back and forth with system in "sport" mode) the difference along the road. I have almost been blown off the road when the system is in tour. I live in tornado alley and it diffentely makes a difference.

Don't know if the C6 has the same problem, but the C5 with magnetic ride control was shipped with donuts around the shocks to keep the cars from bouncing during shipping. When the car is shut off, the shocks don't do anything. Ever seen a car driving down the road with bad shocks.
The dealer is supposed to remove these donuts during make-ready but some don't. A friend of mine complained that his 03 AE vert had a very harsh ride. He looked underneath during an oilchange and saw the strings hanging down from the shocks. After he removed the donuts he said it rides great.
It was such a common problem that you can find out about it on the net.

You have to take it on a bad beat up road to notice the difference. The 2006 models made it even more apparent than the 2005 cars and mine is a 2005 and I can definitely feel the difference.
