Default need help with noise..

I got a 2006 Twin Turboed C6. When the clutch is pushed in, the car sounds normal. However when let out and car is at about 3500 rpm it makes a loud rattle noise, like something is loose. It sounds like it is coming from the clutch.

Today I replaced the clutch disc and throw out bearing?slave cylinder. Noise is still there exactly the same.

I didnt replace the pressure plate, but it appeared to be fine. The cluch I replaced only had about 5K miles on it. Also It is not a stock clutch.

Sounds like it might be something in the torque tube. Where can I get parts to rebuid if that is the case. I do not want to go back to stock since it broke once.

Also do you think they might cover this under warranty since the car is so new and has extended warranty?

Or what elso could the noise be coming from?? from inside the car, it sounds like it is right under the shifter. From under the car it sounds like it is right around the clutch.

Thanks for any advice

Not necessarily. ..if you have good relations with your dealer (i.e., you have bought a lot of Silverados, Vettes Impalas ad nauseam, such as some people i know, or you have a good"relationship' with the service manager or better yet owner of the dealership, they amazingly enough look the other way on "grey area" warranty issues. having prurchased the 100K mile-4 yeared GMPP $50, 0r $100 deductible helps grease the skids for outrageous warranty repairs. Every dealer is different. That's why with GM products sometimes Service Reputation and flexibility are better than low initial price.

For example Kerbeck's (Atlantic City NJ) new car (no-trade) deals are the best, but Denooyer Chev. in Albany NY, while not as good in discounts have a more flexiblle service attitude. Buy low and service elsewhere....may be the scoop. There, are probably other applicable examples in other parts of the country, notwithstanding Southern california..........

Perhaps its a Southern Cal thing too. i noticed a series of posts from Andreas re tires...which indicated that some So. Cal delaers have a "Rip-em-off" mentality. I could be wrong , but where there's smoke there ususally is an ember!!

Later.... Y'all Plastic Chevy Bretheren...Bernie

no need to be a smarta#$ . Just thought I would get some advise. I'm not one of the older guys who drives a vette like its a Kia. I run the hell out of this car. I own serveral drag cars. I know Mercedes warrantied my AMG 55 even though I had a 150 shot of NOS on it. My vette runs bottom 11's on stock bottom end. Top that in your sow *** vette.

I have heard the same noise you are talking about and thought it may be the shifter rod that runs back to the tranny. I have not seen how this rod attaches to the tranny yet, but it has to be a a flexible connection and over time this connection may loosen up a little and allow the rod to move around some. Another area that could rattle especially if it sound like it is right under the shifter would be the shifter rail. Just a thought
