That looks like it is pretty far away from the rotor. I brought mine closer to the rotor, next to the shock and had to use dryer tubbing to connect the duct to the bumper. I just could not get the right angle cutting the factory ducting.

Default Thought

I also ordered these for my C6, I have not got them yet but I am pondering the problem of attaching a clamp to the weak 2.5 diameter plastic outlet. Here is my idea.

Why not get a piece of pipe like you would use for the exhaust, cut a one or two inch piece to put inside the outlet and seal it with a high temperature adhesive, it would be like a steel inner liner that you can then put a clamp on the outside and it will tighten down on the hose and the plastic outlet and the inner liner making it rock solid.

The only thing is getting the right size pipe to fit snug to the inside diameter and cut it short enough to not interfere with air flow and actually it can stick out some after you seal it with a high temperature adhesive, kind of an inner liner nipple to clamp on to.

What do you think? This cost $11 at summit, cut each end off as you personally desire, small end in OEM duct to clamp on to and the other end is 3 inch to fit 3 inch hose to the brakes. I think it would work well, probably can pick these up at local auto parts or exhaust shop also.

FYI.

Over at Autocrossing & Roadracing Section, among other light weight materials, thin walled "aluminum" been among the favorite for the extension.

sorry to drag up an old thread, but is there any reason that the parts offered for brake ducting from DRM and LG Motorsports would be superior to this setup? I was about to pull the trigger on one of those and found this thread, and now I'm hesitant if I can do the same thing for just a few bucks..... I will be seeing 10 track days per year.
