How does one go about removing the rear spoiler to replace it with a new one? I just received a Comp grey painted spolier for the rear... my estimates are that its going to looks awesome.
It's really easy, here's the steps:
1. Unscrew and pull out the two inner-tail lights. (I would rest them against a towel so you don't scratch your paint.)
2. Reach in the tail light opening and unplug the power cable to the third brake light.
3. Unscrew the four bolts on your factory spolier and remove the spoiler from the car.
4. Remove the third brake light and connect it to your new spoiler.
5. Re-install your new spoiler.
Easy, remove the two inner tail lights. Just remove the Torx screw at the top of each and let them hang from the wiring then you can reach in and remove the four nuts that hold the spoiler on. I think it takes a 13 mm socket, can't remember. You also have to unhook the electrical connector that is snapped to the back of the spoiler. Goes on like a snap. Only caution is you may have to slightly enlarge one or more holes in the body panel to get a good fit but no big deal. All in all about a 15 minute project.
