Our differential strut products were designed and engineered for one primary purpose and that was to protect the transmission/transmission output shaft from fracture in the event of catastrophic differential failure due to severe wheel-hop, vehicle abuse or any other driving event that leads to a differential overload event. To that end, it performs is job by design flawlessly in every case presented and not once that we have ever seen- has the transmission/transmission output shaft been damaged as a result of component mating flange failure from our product's use; other than from collateral damage from internal differential failure not withstanding.

It was *NEVER* designed or *EVER* claimed to be designed~ to protect the rest of the entire differential from fracture due to an overload event...period! Not once have we ever stated that it was designed and engineered to do more than what we claimed.... However, folks have claimed that it reduces or eliminates wheel hop...but we never designed or intended it to do so, nor have have ever claimed otherwise. Many folks have also claimed that it reduces or eliminates differential fracture...but we never designed or intended it to do that either, nor have have ever claimed otherwise.

Somehow along the line, everyone has adopted the notion that it was designed to be the silver-bullet part to protect my "entire car" from breakage. Yet, DTE and our product still gets bashed by some "internet expert, legend-in-their-own-mind" individuals that seem to know more about our product than we do and try to discredit it's benefit every chance they get, despite it's proven positive track record for the last 3 years over many applications.

Our product was designed to prevent the fracture of the of the transmission/differential mating flange in order for the transmission/transmission output shaft to be spared after a catastrophic differential failure event, for that it does very well. We feel it's far easier to repair just a broken differential only when that negative issue arises, than to have to repair the transmisison also in tandem, for which the repair bill often exceeds $4000+ for replacement of the pair.

I installed the DTE brace as back up measure completly understanding from the get go that the brace would not stop my rear from exploding if I were to:
A. Start modding the car to the point I was exceeding the design criteria for the rear components.
B. Use DR's and launch at a high RPM (exceeding design load of rear components)
C. Decide to stay on the throttle even though I felt wheel hop taking place.
I doubt there is any thing made that would prevent the stock rear from exploding under those circumstances, however, as stated by the manufacturer, the brace will control / lesson the potential ugliness that could happen. All of the rears I have seen come apart without the brace looked way worse and parts were all over the place. Most of those damaged rears were on modded cars as well. After seeing those photo's, I am more convinced than ever that the brace kept the rear assembly in tact even thought the failure was stated to be internal. I wonder what the pictures would have looked like had the brace not been there?

Well I'm one of the few who did. After ECS had installed my DTE brace, I NEVER broke again, even w/ 6300-6400 rpm launches on ET Streets!!
Slip of the clutch required...

I see you have a Z06 which is well known to have a completely different rear and hardly serves as a reliable statistical reference to anyone with a regular C6 and certainly doesnt say anything about the 2005 C6 which has a diff half the size.

If it was your 03Z06 you were refering to, then again the C5 never suffered from the breakage of the C6. Also, the C5 brace and the C6 brace are not the same product.

There are also many tuner C6's that run 10's without it and they dont recommend it. Maybe they are some of the internet expert, legend-in-their-own-mind guys. I recall there were a few when I called around.

Yes, but Ron, I bet you had over 200 passes without the brace and maybe 30 with it? You rear may have never broken with the brace but it had less abuse with it too. Inconclusive

You coming to Etown in the spring, I wanna see you drive the new Z
