Default first Shake Down run

I purchased a 2007 base coupe this week and have put about 100 miles on it so far. Couple of questions for you Vette experts.

When I start the car (radio off) I get a static noise from the speakers for just an instant, is that normal?

Also, since I am taking it easy on the car right now I notice a little valve noise while driving below 50. It kinda sounds like detonation but very quiet. Is that something normal to c6? Its great that I have such minor issues in a new car.. I hope she makes the 550 mile mark quickly so i can drive her more like a muscle car.

Oh, is the clear roof panel lighter than the body color panel. The wife seems to have a little trouble with the body colored one.

The little noise in the radio is very common.

You may be hearing the fuel injectors.

The clear top seems a little lighter to me, but not significantly so.

You should delete your duplicate post.

I agree with C-INRED, I have both of these noises and after time I got adjusted to them. Normal.

I don't hear any in my '07 Coupe

Are you talking about a "tick"? Goes up and down with RPM, but you only hear it a lower RPMS?

Not sure, feels the same to me.

I only hear it when the trans shifts to its final gear at low speed. More so on a hill in final gear.. Keep in mind that I am driving slower than I would normally due to its low miles (118mi). It does not sound like injector tick.

How would you describe the noise? Is it more or less noticable when cold or hot?

On your breakin, vary the RPM's so that you do NOT create a ring ridge in the top of the cylinder. Do NOT "wrap" the engine up, I usually change from one gear to another if have to stay at a constant speed. Don't try to run the RPM's up greatly, just very them a little. Remember you are trying to break the engine in gentlely. Haste make waste so take it easy, you have your chance later to test it, not break it.
