My 06Z shuts of as well.
Recheck the colors the pins are in & make sure you have the right orientation 1st.
If not, call/email them. They're VERY good w/ customer service.
Just finished my install with the same cord to a V1, and yes, it should shut off when the car is shut off.
- make sure the car is running while installing.
- I put the black to the black ground wire top left corner, and yellow in the socket for the pink (hot +12V) wire bottom-middle of the wiring harness.
- I also stuck my cords behind both wires as opposed to the larger space in the little box holding each separate wire. No brute force needed as I had read in a different thread. Should just slide in and stay in tact.

Their customer service is way above par. Just installed mine, and was thoroughly impressed, and I'm hard to please.
I have also had two dead battery starts when I leave it connected to my Valentine. Not sure why....I can not believe it drains the battery that much, but I also go 2 weeks sometimes not driving the car. So anyways I always unplug my inviscord when I turn off the car....had my car in for a diagnostic check and they came back with nothing mechanically that could cause this.
Blackbird00, I just double checked my install and I have it setup as follows:
black shrink tube pin connects to Black wire on top row (when viewed from the outside it is on the far left)
yellow shrink tube pin connects to Pink wire on bottom row (when viewed from the the outside is in the middle)
This is the same setup as invisicord lists in their install pdf on their site for 'C6 Corvette, autodim'.
