Shock Replacement

Fronts. Two bolts on bottom and one nut on top.
No special tools required.
Pretty easy disassembly and replacement.
Have two jacks, one to jack the wheel, a small bottle jack to lift the leaf spring.
Keep bailing wire handy to keep ths shocks compressed on removal and installation of the new ones.
Shock installs in C5s and C6s are very simple. The hardest part is figuring out how to remove the shock from the car once you remove all the nuts and bolts. For the rear shocks, push up from the bottom part of the shock to compress it and then twist it out of the way of the lower a-arm and remove. For the front, after you remove the upper nut and 2 lower bolts, push down on the dust boot to dislodge the upper bushings from the frame. That is the key step. My friend and I struggled with that for quite a while before figuring that out. Once you do that you can easily take it out. I did not need rope.
