if you don't mind a rough idle, cams can get pretty aggressive to pump the HP up and shift the torque curve. i'd look at the forum vendors' websites and see what they can offer you. also look at head upgrades to go with your cam. this is a common combo upgrade(heads/cam) to do at the same time and further increase your benefit from the upgrade. if you don't upgrade the heads, you will most likely have to spend more on upgrading other parts to go with the cam instead of the heads.
Guys what is the best Cams for the C6 Vette? I need to know what's the best selling cams in the market. Please include Price and Horsepower.
This is our most popular C6 cam and have made
490 RWHP with heads, LT headers and other bolt ons.
Cam is very streetable and makes great power throughout the power band.
Lingenfelter GT14 camshaft will produce excellent power and still have a streetable idle in six speed manual transmission equipped vehicles. Not recommended for automatic transmissions.
Suggested in 350-427 CID applications
Camshaft specifications: 228/232 duration @ .050 .590/.598 with 1.7 ratio rocker arms 113.0 CL.
IN STOCK $339.00 + Shipping

What do you recommend for a 2006 with the A6 auto and the stock converter?

Very good advice. A cam only gets you half there, cams and heads go together like exhaust and intake.
I would try a good tune with something like HPtuners on a dyno, then see if you want more.
Up to 70HP without the heads!!!! WooooooooooooooooooooooooW
The LG Motorsports cam is an excellent cam. Comp Cams makes these to LG's specifications. LG Motorsports provides excellent support and advice! Can't go wrong with these guys!

ohh yeah...I went with LG's G5X3 Cam and all can say is WOW, both performance and sound wise. Talk to Bobby or Anthony.
Exactly. I was going to say "too loud noise" but I just didn't put anything after "loud" because some think it's music. So, I meant loud whatever sound, drone or lope, noise or music, whatever.
So to what extent of lift the cam makes stock-like idling sound? .560? .590?

if you're talking about the exhaust idle sound, that is more affected by the lope of the cam rather than the lift.

Is that right? I didn't know that. I thought the lift makes exhaust sound louder because more lift means more fuel+air into the cylinder and more explosive chemical reaction.

that cam is 224/220 .581/.581 116. 116 lope is the same as stock, but lifts are up at .581. sounds really close to stock idle and smooth.
someone please correct me if i am wrong in my reasoning for exhaust idle being controlled a lot by the lope.
Overlap... the more negative it is the less it lopes.... The closer to 0 overlap or positive overlap will lope more . To determine overlap:
Intake duration + Exhaust duration/2 - (2*LSA)
My cam 215 +232/2 = 223.5 223.5- 234 = -9.5
-9.5 = very little lope... -10 or more negative sounds close to stock...
