I've "narrowed" my choices down to either the Callaway Honker or the Vararam. What are the pros and the cons to these two and for those who had the same decision, which one did you decide on and why? Thanks.
I went with the Callaway. Proven track record and a lot of engineering went into the design. Vararam has had various quality issues at least since I've been here and that kinda drove me away...

the amount of differing opinions you are going to get
I dont know much about the Callaway,but,I have the Vararam, and to me it seems to be a True Ram Air system. If i was to do it all over again i would choose Vararm.
After spending almost 4 months reading about all the different intakes in this forum, I finally went with the Vararam. I noticed a difference right away in acceleration(of course, it's only SOTP... no dyno sheets to prove it, yet). I got the later units, seems to be very well engineered and put together nicely.
Honker= high quality fit and finish
Charmer= questionable fit and finis......

Honker. Both the Honker and Vararam provide very similar power gains but the honkers build quality is better. Both are bottom breathers.
This is probably a stupid question, but do you have to worry about water getting into the intake system when driving in the rain with these bottom breather air intake systems?

No,unless your driving through a huge puddle,or a flooded road,then i would be worried.I been in the rain and no problems.

Negative. No problems here. Just don`t try to drive through water thats more than say 6 inches deep at speed in any low car and even some minivans. I`ve seen totally stock cars drive through water, accellerate to get out and injest water due to the wake action and creating a vacuum in the intake....
