I am looking for C6 and will take it from US to Europe. Does DVD/Nav work in Europe? Are there any maps for Europe? How about radio - in US there are only .1 .3 .5 .7 and .9 FM frequences. In Europe each 1/10. Will be glad for your help cause not now if is it worthy to pay for DVD/Nav if it does not work?
The Nav may work if you replace the DVD with a European DVD. I shipped several cars to Europe over my USAF career and the OEM AM/FM OEM radio's worked just fine.
I doubt XM will work as that signal and associated repeaters are only for the lower 48.

afraid not, unless you get some help from GM to modify some settings inside BCM and PCM.
so you have to live with 1, 3, 5..... radio and a PDA a TomTom 6, wich i find a better option :-)
I have sold many C5 and C6 imported to Norway.
Living in Norway, biggest problem is communist, sorry socialist gouverment, they want close to 180.000 usd in Duty on a Z06
good luck, these are nice docile cars until you put the pedal to the metal :-)
Rune, doesn't sound good for me what you said. I can live with radio .1 .3 .5 etc but Nav does not work also? What changes in PCM and BCM - just software change or anything more?

not sure, but i am almost 99% sure it will not work
I would look into the tomtom maps - they have both US and european maps to choose from and their hand held 910 unit has an mp3 player in it so that would help with the radio station problem... I've been driving around with their ONE and really like it. Hopefully you haven't already bought anything and can take a look. they just released new teleatlas maps for the US which are free if you get one before the end of march and i'm sure theirs after christmas sales going on right now for things too.
My car I simply bought stock without any options except z-51 and I am buying a small garmin nav unit. Much better because you can buy one here that shows you where all the german built in radar traps are on the roads and autobahns. I just thought less to go wrong. I paid about 800 dollars for the instrument cluster with european guages and the speedo that goes to 300. That is a must!!!!!!!!!!! Buy that in Canada because here it will cost you well over 3 grand.
GM does make a Europe nav disk you can order from your dealer. I have one I used two years ago when I took my C6 to Europe and it worked fine. If you'd be interested in one two years old I would be willing to sell it . Give me a pm. I think I paid $300-350 for it.
Thanks Tom,
You mean replace DVD player or DVD disc with maps? What is XM signal?
Yes try finding the European Nav DVD.
Here's some info on XM Satellite Radio Service that we have access to and is standard on the Bose audio systems here in the US. http://www.xmradio.com/
I believe this service is only available in the lower 48 and Canada.
