A survey will not accomplish anything other than a outlet for people to complain about this well known condition. Not everyone will respond or reads the forum, and you still not know the production dates, total population and the miles to failure. The data would be inconclusive. Several 2005 have had the condition and some of the 2006s. A running production change was made at Bowling Green in December 2005 to help eliminate this condition.
My 2006 A6 (built 4/20) rear end makes all types of chattering noises when backing up and making tight slow turns. Saturday had the dealership add the additive to it......they told me to give it about 150 so miles....so tomorrow I will see if the noises are still there.
I have a RPS clutch and the petal is much stiffer. The clutch for the vettes are too small. They need to use the same size clutch thats in the Viper. I"ve seen one. Its almost twice the size. I heard Vipers drivetrain was good stock up to 800rwhp. But to answer your question... Yes mine is a little chattery. My stock clutch didnt make it off the dyno when I twin turboed it
There is a December 6,2006 bulletin [PIP3558F;Doc ID# 1876083] entitled "Rear axle shudder on turns" applies to 99-07 Corvettes,Z06,XLR,XLR-V's.
Calls for a flush & refill also impliies the clutch packs may be involved and a second flush/refill on a seperate visit may be required to clear the problem"prior to replacement of the clutch packs"
In addition to "flush & refill" it calls for removal of left diff. cover to get all old fluid out wiping the residue replace the cover o-rings and reinstall cover.
The fluid is P/N 89021677, Canadian P/N 89021678 plus proper amount of "Friction modifier" P/N 01052358: P/N 992694. Must be shaken vigorously fot 1 minute to mix thoroughly.
The car is to be "driven in 8-10 slow figure 8's to work fluid in clutch plates

I have a 2006 c6 A6 F55 built in January 2006 and a neighbor three doors down had same but with Z51 built in April 2006, both had differential problems. I wish you were right about the December 2005 "running production change', they seemed to have missed us!
I have an '06 Z51 6spd (built in June) that started chattering at 5000 miles- just a few thousand miles after returning from the factory to Los Angeles. I changed the fluid and noise returned after 1200 miles. Like most of us, the noise is most noticeable in the morning or after work. I suppose I'll get the rear-end looked at sometime for next step- clutch pack swap.
I just had mine towed to the dealership. I went to make a slow left hand turn from a side street onto a busy road and almost got hit when my rear end locked. The car would still move but it felt like one of the rear brakes was locked. When I finally managed to get it off the side of the road, I kicked it into neutral and got out and pushed it to make sure it wasn't a brake.
I'll be curious to see what the dealer says in the morning when I call them. After we took it off the roll back, I started it up and moved it around their parking lot and everything seemed to work properly. I have 26,277 miles on my '05 M6. I have made two previous complaints to the dealership about the noise, each time dismissed as "normal rear end noises".
Check out the link below... lots of info regarding the differential chatter problem. Check out the third post for links to existing differential chatter polls.

Great write up! I had already found most of the information you referenced, I just happened to hit this thread before I found it. I have an early 2005 model Z51. The noises started in my car about 9 months ago (first complaint to dealer was 4/16/06). Since then it's just been noise. Today was different. Since I wasn't entirely sure what was wrong until I did a little research, I dared not try to force the car to move. In hine sight, if I had just run the car backwards a little and straightened the wheels, it would have probably unlocked itself and I could have driven it to the dealer of my choice instead of humiliating my C6 on a roll back.
I appreciate all the info and I will be armed for discussion with the service department in the morning.
