Service Charging system??

Got a 06. Just put new dry cell battery. Car runs good except when I accelerate I hear a slight whistle noise from alternator. Got home pop hood and smells like burnt hair. Anyone with alternator problems in new vette?

Update on whats happening.

Car seems to charging properly. Sometimes the car will turn over and crank. Then when I try again it will not turn over. Then I will try again and it will crank up as if nothing is wrong. What should I be checking?

Also the service charging system sometime comes on and sometime not..

dealer trip

Sounds like either a battery or alternator but I would get it in for warranty repair. Don't want to get stranded.
