I have a 06/C6 and I have purchased a 160o thermostat. I have a forced air induction system which has raised the operating temp up a few degrees. However when I called the gealer and asked about the 160 thermo he stated that changing the thermo would cause problems? Has anyone successfully installed a 160o therm on a new 06/C5

My understanding is that without a custom tune, the computer will cause the car to run rich, due to it sensing a low temperature? Is that correct?
not true, pcm is already in close loop when ect reach 160's * if i recall correctly from the service manual. with the 160 stat, you cruising temp shouldn't be much lower then 178*.

I realize that you are new to our forum, do a search and will will find many, many threads discussing this issue. If you want to cut to the chase just install the 160 stat as LS1LT1 already said.
