Hey guys i have a 06 C6 with 13,000 miles. I recently bought the car at a salvage auction. It was hit in the rear and apparently something is wrong because the clutch petal goes straight to the floor and has no pressure. Reading some other forums i have concluded that i have a slave cylinder issue? Can you recommend a manual or another thread that could walk me through the bleeding process? Also the fluid is very brown and nasty is that normal? Where is the slave cylinder located and what kind of brake fluid and bleeder do you use?

Can't answer most of your questions, but the nasty brown fluid is common. It seems the fluid is getting cooked. Do a search for member Ranger and his thread on the clutch fluid change. Many of us are changing the clutch fluid with a turkey baster at regular intervals. Prestone synthetic DOT 4 seems to be the favorite replacement fluid.
I had the same trouble with mine and it was the clutch master cylinder. It was going to take the dealer at least two weeks to complete the job so I changed it myself. If I remember right the part was less than $80.
It is pretty easy except removing the windshield washer reservoir. One tip to remember that is not in the service manual is to remove the drivers side hood latch to allow enough room for the reservoir to be removed.
Although the manual recommends bleeding after changing the master I did not. So far the clutch has worked fine since replacing the master cylinder.
awesome thanks for your help. where did you get your manual?
I bought mine from a member on another forum that works at a dealership. However any of the forum sponsors such as Fichtner Chevrolet, Gene Culley or Fred Beans can order these for you.
