Default Can z51 be added later

Having a hard time finding a z51 6spd around my range, if I bought a reg c6, could I possibly add the z51 package at a later time?

Sure would be expensive compared to just ordering one and waiting 6 weeks to get it.

Tires, Springs, Sway Bars, Shocks, Oil Cooler, Tranny Cooler, Tranny oil pump (this would be very tough to add), Power Steering cooler, Different Trans ratios (really expensive to buy a new tranny).

depends on what your going to do with the car actually. If your going to road race, then order a z51, otherwise, in the quarter the base model is actually a tad faster due to suspension differences making up for the m6 transmission ratio's. I wanted a z51 too, but fell in luv with the base model when i drove it. I dont toad race, I'm more of a quarter mile guy, and the suspension is much easier on the back with all the poor roads around here in NJ.

Damn, can't wait to see DSOM Z51's reply to this

For most people, buying a base car and adding Z51 sway bars and shocks (or Bilstein or Koni Shocks) will give you everything you want unless you are seriously into utilizing the cars FULL potential.

I had a base C5 and just added Bilsteins - that gave me everything I wanted. I even finished second overall in a Corvette only Autocross - beating quite a few Z51 and Z06's (C5s).

Not really....some bits like the sway bars, shocks, cross drilled rotors, etc can be added if you're handy, but the tranny & oil coolers & special tranny ratios would be tough to do.

I went with the base suspension and was unhappy with the handling. I'm getting the Bilstein shocks and Z51 front and rear sway bars installed next week, total cost for the parts around $500. You also need to get rid of the stock runflats. I went with Michelin PS2s which were around $1,300 but I was able to sell my runflats that had 5,000 miles on them for $700.
