actually, take it down to the 'low fuel' message. if i recall correctly, you should have about 5 gallons of fuel left when the 'low fuel' message appears.
for dragstrip launch lower the air pressure in your rear tires to around 26-28 lbs.
the powerband begins around 3k and begins to fall off around 6k.
keep the rpms around 4500 during your shifts and you will pretty much stay in the powerband.
slightly lift when you depress the clutch and depress the gas pedal as you release the clutch.
if he wants to run from a roll, bring it up to speed in sixth, when it's time to go, downshift into 4th or 3rd, etc. (depends upon what you're rolling from), and punch it.
if you drop it into 4th at 75+mph and keep the rpms in the powerband, you should end up with a pretty nice run.
...Completely. The 350z is nothing special.

Zig, you didn't mean to tell him to shift at 4500 rpm, did you? I find it much better to shift around 6300 rpm.

edit: when you shift at 6300 rpm what is your rpms when the next gear is engaged, clutch pedal is fully released and gas pedal is being depressed ?
