Plan on about $7500 if you do some good shopping around on all parts and paint. I did the labor.

Default Cost for conversion vs cost of real Z06?

How much of a cost diff is there? Love the looks, but my poll opinion will be based on the cost diff, if it is somewhat close, why not opt for the real thing?

The hole is about 3/8" in in diameter with square ends. In other words, "big".

The cost difference for many people is double the cost of the car. My 2005 with its mods already done, will not fetch over 35k-36k. I would never do the front fenders but the rears for traction with wide rims and tires will be a must.

I get confused as to why people get so **** over the badge thing.

I cant see spending 70-75k for a set of cast pistons and a non-removable roof. What I could make my car do for 75k total with the car cost is insane. My roof comes off too.

It looks great! The only ones that do not like it are the ones who paid way too much money for their Z's in the first place. I bought my $55k MSRP for $47k and intend to spend $8k more for the wide body kit and wheels and be into the car for $55k instead of $78k which is ridiculous!

I would have voted for "looks great, but too much $$$ for the mod". But that's just me.

parts,labor,paint-$4500
ccw 19/20 505a's wheel & tire pkg(mounted, balanced & shipped)-$4800
(could have gone stock wheels and tires for $2300)
when i got this car complete i thought it was worth all the money. new a6 z51 for $44k-brings my total to about $51k. if i could have got the 06 zo6 for an msrp for $66k, i would have been more than happy to have spent the xtra $15k.(cant forget pay more tax & higher reg fees-almost $18k) in my honest opinion, i think $15k more for a actual z, better suspension, 100hp more, better brakes, better resale value, would have been a great deal. but buying a new zo6 in march of 06 @ msrp was not available. i had about $50k to play with and wanted one now! wish i would have waited a year and got a used one for $60k.

JUST MAKE SURE WHEN YOU GET THE LOWERING BOLTS THEY NEED TO BE LUBRICATED IF NOT YOU WILL HAVE A GRIDING/clicking SOUND that can be confuse with the noise from the differential. Trust me, they change my differential fluid thinking it was the differential. And after some though i figure to spray some wd-40 on the rear bolts and wallaaaaaa noise gone. just put some grease on the bolts....

Both cars look F*CKIN Killer! I want to do the same to my 07-what is the out of Pocket$ ?? for kit, paint & labor for install? did you have a Chevy Dealer do the install? BTW "nice touch not adding the emblems" since it isn't I think it looks better without!
P.S. are those P325s out back w/ 19 x 12s & Big Brake kit? Looks like Base C6 setup

Zip Corvettes sells a lowering kit using your existing bolts -kit has four rubber cups that go over the bolts (they look like little hockey pucks) after you cut the original rubber bushing off-protects your A Arms-I had them done on mine dropped it 2 Inches.

Amazing how all of the people who said no only commented on looks and cost with no mention of what traction is worth. Add just the rear fenders and 18x12 inch wheels (could be repro 18x9.5's widened to 12")with 345 drag radials and you have one of the best single mods for speed that you can get for a car with engine mods......oh yeah the same guys run near stock power because mods cost too much and violate the warranty....

Even the Z06 wheels to run 345 pilot sports with stock size repros in the front/stock tires will far outperform.
