Default X-Pipe

I have a Corsa Sport and experience the deceleration popping. Will adding the X-Pipe eliminate this? I have heard some say it cleans or tightens up the sound of the exhaust. Anybody have experience going from H pipe to X? Also any other positives with X-Pipe addition?

I like the popping! X pipe will help a little.

If you are going to get headers, don't get a Corsa X-pipe. You will need an X-pipe to fit the headers. All headers have the cats in the X-pipe, except off road applications.

The X-pipe on my Magnaflow gives a nice popping/burble upon deceleration. I like it.

Here is info received from Corsa -

Ron,

Thanks for choosing CORSA Performance for your new C6 Corvette!

The burble and popping that you hear is normal…the factory H-pipe in the car does an OK job of balancing the engine, but our X-pipe does an even better job. Adding the X-pipe will smooth out the sound at idle, and decrease the popping sounds, but will not take all of it away. This tone is normal to any internal combustion engine…

Please give me a call if you have any questions or if you would like to order this X-pipe.

Thanks,

Jim Browning Jr.

Subject: Corsa sport exhaust

I recently took delivery of my 2007 Corvette Convertible w/MN6 and had the Corsa sport exhaust installed. I noticed a little "exhaust burble" on idle and a little "popping" on declaration. Not a problem at this time - long term will it become annoying? What about adding the x-pipe? How much of this "problem" does the x-pipe remove and how does it affect the overall sound of the exhaust? Comments Please - Thanks

I've got the Corsa Sports with Corsa X-Pipe on my '05/Z51/MN6.....installed the X-Pipe on advice of one of the Techs at Corsa & it definitely softens the decel 'pop'. Been in place for over a year & I've been very please with the sound.

I have an 06 M6 with a Corsa sport and X-pipe. I totally agree with what's been said. Popping is inherent to the engine. Definitely much more tolerable with the X-pipe than the factory H-pipe.
