Default Tire worries please help

I'm replacing my tires within the week but I need to drive for the rest of the week. Given the below description, can someone tell me if it's really unsafe for me to drive anywhere but straight to the dealer for tire replacement?

I have 12,900 miles on my Z51. Rear tire tread is basically gone, maybe a millimeter or so left in areas. The right rear tire is showing steel cording through the rubber in a limited area. I got my eye on the pressure monitors and the tire is holding pressure fine. With the steel cording showing should I worry about a blowout like tomorrow? I know nothing about tires, how much driving to I have before catastrophe? Like I said I'm getting them changed this weekend, new tires are en-route from tire rack, but I need to drive to school for the rest of the week.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

I'd take it easy, but drive it. Remember, these tires will work with no air at all in them.

I'd do a little worrying if I were to drive on tires like that...

Chances are you will make it to the weekend without a blowout, but I would be more worried about water on the road than the blowout. If it is raining where you are the rear is going to have a lot less traction with no tread.
