tuning question...
Is a professional tune worth the extra $$$ if it wont really be used? i am just going to do exhaust, intake and maybe t stat (still not sure on this one) and was just planning on using a predator handheld. i wont be doing any racing, just cruising. also, does anyone know if there is a way that i can run a custom tune from my laptop?

yes, some shop will tune using predator software, call the manuafacture, they have a list of tuner / shop in your area that can tune for you using your software, or you could just use the tune from predator.

15 at the wheels with JUST a tune? I have a 500 mile old C6 M6 and am going to get a 93 octane tune and have the tq managment turned off, you think its worth the money. Also, if I decide to add a K&N airfilter not the intake should I do it before I get the tune?

For the money, you gain roughly 15rwhp (some gain more and some gain less), but the real gain comes from the reduction of TM. On the dyno the TM will not show. It will dyno the same numbers with or with out TM, but you will show a .3 to .5 gain in quarter mile ET. It's very much worth it.
If you can get the filter before the tune then I would put it in there.

Yes the tune is worth every penny.
I logged a stock C6 Z06 yesterday at the drag strip. IAT was 150 in the staging lanes, got down to 104 at 80 mph and stayed there. Factory tune was pulling 10 degrees of timing at 150 and 6 degrees at 104. It was 84 degrees out.
A C6 is worse because it has no cold air intake like the Z06 does. By the way my Vararam was at 93 in the staging lanes and got down to 84 by 100 mph.
Changing that table alone to be less aggressive makes a huge difference in the way the car feels and runs. Huge.
Here's the table on how much timing is pulled at IAT's starting at 86 degrees. This is a Z06 table but C6 is about the same.

Thanks for the info guys, i found someone here in SD to help me with the tune. One other quickie, is there a way for me to hook up my laptop to the car to do my own tune? i am adding exhaust in a couple of weeks and may not add other things (intake, 160 stat, etc) until the end of summer. I didnt want to get the tune done with just the exhaust if i am going to do other mods later down the road.
