Top Speed for 1st gear
Here is the easiest way to calculate top speed of each gear. Drive it to around 3250RPM, look at your speedo and multiply that speed by two. For example, if you drive your MN6 Z51 in 1st gear at 3250 RPM your speed should be around 25MPH.. So at 6500RPM your top speed in 1st should be around 50MPH. This works on every gear on manual cars up to car's top speed granted your clutch is not slipping

Just input the correct data for your particular car and it'll spit out a nice chart
with all the details of all the gears.
Here are all the ratios... now you just need to do the calculations for rpm.
Column 1: A6 (automatic)
Column 2: MN6 (manual)
Column 3: MZ6 (Z51 manual)
Gear ratios
1st gear-----4.02---2.66---2.97
2nd gear----2.36---1.78---2.07
3rd gear----1.53---1.30---1.43
4th gear----1.15---1.00---1.00
5th gear----0.85---0.74---0.71
6th gear----0.67---0.50---0.57
Reverse-----3.06---2.90---3.28
Rear axle--2.56---3.42---3.42
1st 2.97, 7.6, 49mph (6500rpm)
2nd 2.07, 10.9, 71 mph (6500 rpm)
3rd 1.43, 15.8, 102 mph (6500 rpm)
4th 1.00, 22.5, 147 mph (6500 rpm)
5th 0.71, 31.8, 186 mph (5900 rpm)
6th 0.57, 39.6, 165 mph (4200 rpm)
Above from C&D test results on 2005 Z51 6MN, September 2004
