Callaway Shifter - Problem with Reverse
I've got the Callaway short shifter in my C6. I love it and the short throws between 1st and 6th. However, it is almost impossible to get it into reverse. I have to fight like hell to have the shifter move into this gear.
The shifter has been in and out twice and the factory instructions have been followed each time.
Anyone else had this issue? If so, how did you fix it?
Thanks,
Jeff
PS: I spoke with Callaway and they said I should not have to fight to get the car into reverse.
Not sure if I can help, but I do remember seeing some threads about something that can come loose in the tranny right where the shifter mounts, (some sort of a ring or stop I think). Not sure if this could be your problem, but maybe it will jog someone else who has a better memory than me.
Good luck solving this, I'm sure it must be very frustrating.

Just spoke with Mike from Callaway. They are sending me a new shifter, no cost. Hopefully this will resolve the issue. Great company, they stand behind their product.

I have a Callaway shifter on order so thanks for the good news re: your Callaway issue. Looking forward to my mod for March.
