I have bought an 05 z51 and can't wait to get itnext week!!! Can I lower the car some with the stock springs by adjusting the stock bolts, a friend thought i could and i am curious...
Oh, and what size wheels usually come on the z51, 18's?

I think then I might lower the car a little, seems like in the pics they sent me there is a little too much space between the tires and the wheel well....thanks
18" front & 19" rears, the good thing about the Z51 package you can rotate the tires from side to side to help get even tread wear without dismounting the tires.
I had my lowering done by a mechanic at the dealership I bought my C6 from it was lowered approximately 2 1/2 inches and looks fantastic.
I am sure I'll be corrected if I'am wrong, but I think that with the C6 you have to change the bushings unlike the C5 that can be adjusted by cranking her down.
Lowering does get rid of that space between the wheel lip and the tire that looks out of place.
here's my 07 Z51 Lowered on Stock bolts, however I cut the bushings. I love the lowered stance and woudn't want to change it at all now. there's also a pic beside a base suspension car so you can see the difference.
nope no difference. you don't change spring/spring rates so the ride is the same, it does thow off the suspension geometry a little you should have it aligned after you do it.
So what happens if you blast into a corner after cranking your car down on the suspension?
If you look closely at this picture I am almost lifting the inside front wheel and the suspension is fully loaded on the driver's side.
If you are serious about lowering without negativly impacting your car's performance, go to a good set of coil-overs like LG or PFADT.
