Default If I...?

Sorry keep on asking newbie questions, but i am a newbie to corvettes.
So If i go to lg motorsports website and purchase the $1500 longtube headers that comes with the xpipe and borla stinger cat back, without the xpipe for $1200? do I have a complete after market exhaust system or, i still need to buy highflow cats or pipes etc?

you will be missing the middle section of your entire exhaust system, it is call xpipe. x pipe comes with cats or no cats, your option.

The headers from LG are $1595 aren't they(not $1500)? That includes the 3" X pipe. That with the cat back installed is a full system. You can add cats for an additional $300 according to their pricing. So it's $1595 + (the cost of the cat-back) if you don't want cats. $1895 + $(cat-back) if you do want cats. You need that intermediate section to have a full system.

This is correct, except I thought LG gave Corvetteforum members a $100 discount off of the prices you listed.

Here a pic of the LG's and the stock exhaust side by side (LG's are on the left)
Hope this helps a bit...

Why the hell won't people stop posting about long tube headers? I don't want to spend that kind of money on just exhaust, but everytime someone brings it up, I want one. You jerks are driving me crazy

Rizzo, that comparison pic with those heavy, rusty OEM pieces is not helping me!

It's the trade-off that makes it interesting. If you are getting ready to fork over $1200 for a catback, why not just spend another $600 and get the LG Long Tubes and keep the OEM catback. It will sound better than stock and give you 25 to 30 extra ponies.

That's an excellent point. I would be pissed if I has spent $1200 on a cat back.

You can get the "sound" and the "fury" for a few dollars more.

I was shocked to see some of these catback systems selling for well over $1,000.00. Almost as much as a set of long tube headers. No way I'm paying that just for noise.

A few more pics to put your mind at ease mlongo99

If your not doing it yourself you might want to see if a local shop will give you an installed price. A local here was willing to go 1800 installed on the LGs. Headers have a huge markup both from the originating vendor and the reseller. By going with an installed pricing the shop can bypass pricing agreements and basically give em at cost plus labor.
