No, I didn't direct my comment to you. It was more a general comment.
Basically most are "worried" at the new found noise of adding headers because it was something that was always there, yet was conceled nicely with the cast iron manifolds.
With a tune you should have no problems - but I never had my old C6 tuned and I had plenty of valvetrain noise, never any knock
I wonder if the "noise" is triggering the knock sensors and pulling timing........Hmmmmmmmmm..........someth ing to think about?
You dont get it, do you? Most people worry that the "noise", i.e. the regular sound of a motor running, is bad because now you hear it differently. Nothing has changed - only the amount of back pressure and total exhaust flow.

it's my understanding that they (gm) moved the knock sensor to the front of the block to help prevent 'other' noises from being interpreted as knock. yes, it's possible but it depends upon how severe the 'noise' is.
Ever heard a top fueler with its Zoomies? That's the sound you can now hear in thinwall stainless headers. It's louder when the engine is under load, and at high rpms & speed there are other noises that drown it out (like your Bullets).
You couldn't hear that sound when you had the cast iron manifolds. Now you're closer to a race car! If you open your headers right after the collectors you can sometimes see fire like dragsters. For sure the popping on overrun shoots fire with the headers open. I have cutouts right by the collectors on my Hurst Olds.
My tuner, who is a great guy, said bring it by and he will check it out. Sounds to him like I am describing the header "tin can" noise. He has moved my shift points up in D mode so it is not as bad but the stock S mode shift points let the rpms drop lower in 6th before downshifting and it is not very enjoyable. I know leave it in D mode
I might have a set of AR's for sale in a week or two if I cant get my mind around it. Like the growl though.
