Ok the Leather on the bolster is wearing, whats new! but now its starting to split on the bolster. My question is, is this covered under warranty,I have a 05 with 20,000 miles 36 36 is good till 01/08 Thanks Daniel
My experience with my C5 says ... it depends on your relationship with your dealer. Mine replaced the driver's leather on my C5 three times in the first two years due to unacceptable wear (once was a survice bulletin, so it soret of does not count). But the service manager made it well known he was going on a limb doing it and that warranty did not really cover it explicitly after the first few months (few "appearance items" are covered, so you have do work the "defect" angle).

With one of the forum vendors I priced a set of the new two-tone covers in black/red as an upgrade for my '06 vert. The quote that I got for the six pieces of leather to cover the two seats was about $900. Then, I'd also have to pay to have them installed. I passed for the time being.

There is a Katzkins dealer around here that would do both seats, leather and labor, for about $800. I have seen their work and it's great. You may want to contact Katzkins and find an installer in your area. Their leather is top quality.

The side of the bolsters are vinyl, not leather.
My dealer sent me to an auto upholsterer, for repair under warrantee.
Aside from the cheap vinyl, the problem is that there is not enough padding underneath the bolster.
Anyway, I agree with dennisjenkins who posted, "it depends on your relationship with your dealer".

My dealer's service centre maanger took me to one side and asked me if I would like my seats replaced before my warranty is over.. I asked him if I should slash em with a knive before I bring it.. He was like "Just bring it and I'll take care of the rest"...
Car is 2005 and has about 33K miles on the odometer..
Thats the way to go if you want better leather skins in your vehicle. Not enough padding in the seats could has been discussed before, and I remember reading somwehere that some members where adding more padding when having the seats replaced/repaired which might be an excellent idea for those facing this problem. Eventually I'm planning on having my seats redone by Gerardo with some two-tone flavor, but I would still try to add more padding.
