I have had my C6 for a couple of months now and on a couple of occasions, I have opened the vehicle, closed the door and attempted to start the vehicle. Usually the "ignition button" is backlit green, however, on these two occasions it did not light up, the yellow ignition warning light in the dash was lit and the DIC did not say "No FOB detected." However, after a few seconds everything went back to normal (green backlight came on) and I could start the car as usual.
Anybody else experience this? Could my cell phone be the cause?
I had the exact same thing happen to me. At one point I even locked the FOB in the car which is not suppose to happen. Thinking I had some of the settings wrong I read the entire manual. Nothing in the manual describes this situation. There was a note that said something about the cell phone chargers can intefere with the FOB. I had it laying next to the cell phone charger plugged in the center compartment. I laid the FOB right next to the cell charger and the car would not even start. I moved the FOB to the back of the center compartment and the problem goes away. I proved to myself that this was the problem and have never had it since. I have to leave my keys in the car where I work but wanted to leave them somewhere out of site. Putting them in the back of the center compartment keeps it far enough from the cell charger and no problems.

Unfortuately, in my case, I didn't have a cell phone charger, just a cell phone lying in the cup holder. Who knows? I guess I'm gonna have to find out the hard way!
Had this happen to me when I had the keys to my 96 in my pocket. Car would not reconize the FOB from the 06. Dealer also had a car come in with the same problem. Turned out to be an IPod adapter was confusing the car.

This happened to me again today - just thought I would repost and see if anybody has experienced this problem (this time my cell phone was off)?
I had the exact same problem. The dealer finally learned it was the receiver or the antenna located under the dash. Both were replaced and problem solved.
My AEM A/F gauge appears to interfere with my fob. If the fob is in my LEFT pocket, I get a "no fob" message when I shut down. Works fine in my right pocket. If I disco the power from the gauge, works fine in EITHER pocket.
Sigh... never friggin ends, does it?

(been too busy with non-car stuff to spend any time here lately - waves to all...)
It used to happen to my wife and I , Sometimes other things in pockets or purse mask the fob. After complaning to the dealer,he instaled new batteries in both our FOBs ,so far the problem has not reocured. the car still has trouble when we both have our FOBs detecting who is driving.
I am experiencing the same problem - the "no fob detected" light flashes when engaging the starter button. So far, this has been the only down side to a marvelous car!
Update: In my case, it appears that my blue-tooth enabled telephone caused the problem. When I placed the phone in a pocket away from the fob, the problem went away. I hope this helps others with a similar problem.
Same thing happens here. I have about 500 miles on my car. No cell phone or anything. Has happened 3 times. I am sitting there holding the FOB, no start. Push the unlock button on the FOB, the little security light goes out on dash and she starts right up.

I had this happen only a couple of times both in my friends garage. In my case it wasn't the cell phone charger or Ipod but her breaker box. It seems all the power lines from the breaker box went overhead and into the house. In a sense my car was surrounded by power lines which set up a magnetic field that caused interference with the FOB. Outside everything was fine.
When this happens, check the location for powerlines or even flourescent lamps or any really close running motors. RFI/EMI noise is a bit tricky and can block the signal from your FOB.
Good Luck.
Hello, Same problem found here too.... Two dealers (including the one I purchased my 07 C6 from) pretend the problem does not exist and they will not admit any knowledge of this and other general FOB issues.
What helped me: 1) disconnect the phone charger when attempting to start or stop the car 2) keep the FOB and phone away from each other...if I do both things, I can start and stop even if the "no fob detected" message appears.
However, two additional new problems associated with the FOB have surfaced...1) interior lights stay on for an extended time (button in or out makes no difference) and 2) if I turn car off while remaining inside, then go to accessory mode, the door will not unlock until I restart car.....the FOB transceiver equipment must be first generation...there are too many of us with these anomalies, Chevy needs to man up......
You guys need to find another dealer. There is an update to the RCDLR program. The interior lites staying on too long could be a latch issue or BCM issue even. The RCDLR is likely to blame for the FOB issue. I don't understand why your dealers are reluctant to try and fix an intermittent problem, we get them all the time. Good luck!

Ok this is now happening to me. I get in the car (keys in the right front pocket) and press start and display indicates "no FOB detected" Same thing on turning the car off. Take my keys out of my pocket and hold in the vicinity of the dash (no idea where the receiver is?) and the car starts fine.
I do have blue tooth but use it all the time and this is a rare event. Any ideas... I did have the phone charger plugged in but I find it hard to believe this caused the problem but ?????

The receiver is under the dash, at the top, just behind and to the right of, the center A/C vents. It is what you hear clicking when you get in the car. The receiver gets signals from 4 antennas in the car. The one for starting is just left of the glove box. Open your glove box and on the left side you'll see a slot. The antenna is just left of this slot (you can't see it). The slot is where you put your fob when you are having the troubles that you are having or the batteries are dead in the fob. Optimally, you should put it in the slot top first, facing the passenger door.
