I'm seeing numbers in the 130s almost constantly in highway driving. If I stay completely out of the throttle and in overdrive I'll see high 120s. Get a little agressive (and I do mean a little . . . not flogging it) and I'm in the 140s. I've seen it hit 150. Coolant temp stabalizes around 200 no matter what and oil pressure sits around 40. No codes.
This is a stock manual '06 C6 w/8K miles. Oddly, I only noticed this after my last oil change about 2 months back at Boardwalk. Any chance the wrong viscosity can do this? Any ideas before I give Boardwalk a call? THX.
Do you mean 200's? Above it says 120, 130 and 140's and this would be extremely cold oil temps if thats the case. Just clarifying.
Good topic though as I was wondering what others are registering for oil temps with normal driving? My 06 M6 sees 210-220 oil temp on a 70deg day and norma driving around town.
I saw 268 today during "spirited" driving in 70 deg ambient conditions. Maybe those Z51 coolers would be worthwhile after all. I don't have them in the base model car.
